Constantly butting heads with her boss, Julia Jones discovers there is more to him than meets the eye.

Dragon shifter, Angus McNamara craves Julia with everything he has and seeks to consume the ebony beauty in more ways than one. His biggest challenge is bringing her to terms with what she is while claiming her as his Fire Mate, the way a true Connricualen Dragon should. However, Julia Jones has other plans. Or so she thinks…

Can they put their differences aside long enough to seize a chance at love, or will they forfeit their opportunity and continue their heated dance of dominance?

Death Angel Series Available Now

Have you ever flirted with Death? My heroines have... Some mock Death, while others willingly succumb to their Death Angels.  I'm launching a series of short stories with several different heroes and heroines and they may be available on Kindle some time this week...

CK-BWTR-200x300-2

Bargaining with The Reaper is a short enticing story included with Reaper's Fragile Ego when you purchase from Amazon.

Below is a blurb from Reaper's Fragile Ego:

Blurb:

Death comes in various forms. Seductive and sometimes violent, the Reaper pervades into life like a thief in the night, and you’ll never know when he may strike. He holds a secret desire, one which has haunted him for a millennia, an obsession for an entity opposite of himself. If he could conquer her? Her powers of light and strength would complete his majesty of darkness.
The Angel of Willpower, Willa Mae finds that her strength may be her downfall, as she fights hard to permeate mankind with the will to survive. In her quest to imbue hope and strength to those who despair, she steps on Death’s toes and he vows revenge on the dark beauty.
After all, the Death Angel, Bane has a reputation to maintain, but how well will he deal with a blow to his fragile ego once he learns the truth about the object of his coveted obsession?  A revelation that shatters his ideal of the Angel of a seemingly innocent Will.

Author Blog Challenge Day 2 ~ Charisma's Skills

We're on The Author Blog Challenge ~ Day 2

* What type of writing classes, programs and workshops have you attended to improve your writing craft? Did you ever teach any writing workshops, and what types of exercises were used to improve your writing skills? *

I'm no English Major and I don't hold a Literary Degree in writing. Years ago I thought without these accomplishments one could never achieve their writing dream. Those skills help, however, there are other ways I've honed my craft.

I've been mentored by successful seasoned writers who noticed I had potential. As a matter of fact, author Bonnie Lea Elliott is currently editing my Death Angel manuscript and I must say I'm quite impressed. She paints with words and writes using the layering formula.  I'm determined to add that to my list of skills. Yes I write well, but my craft is far from perfect. Writing is something that we can improve each day. The more we do it, the better we become at it.

I've worked with many fabulous editors and saved every manuscript I've edited. Yes, it really does help to go back and look at those. While your editor is taking the time to help you, don't be afraid to ask questions. Pick their brains, that's what they do. You'll learn something new and exciting with each editing round. I have one hell of an imagination, but if it weren't for my editors my stories wouldn't shine. Yes, give a shout to all the editors who have helped you along in your writing career! I'm surprised mine don't run away screaming in fear.

My daughters are excellent writers and I've learned so much from them. It made me proud when their Language Arts teachers told me how well my they have excelled and how well they can express themselves. When I sit down to read their work, I'm filled with a sense of pride because I know they'll go far in their achievements. I encourage them to sharpen those skills at a very early age. Children are great teachers. We should listen to them!

Don't be ashamed to ask someone for help. This is not the time to let pride stand in your way. Sometimes when I receive my edits I feel like I'm back in elementary school *shivers*

Read, read, read, and read some more!!! Believe it or not, this helps because you can see how another author executes their plots. Hey, we all can learn from each other. That's the awesome thing about this journey and I just love it when someone reaches out to me and vice versa.

That's all I have for today!

Author Blog Challenge ~ How I Started Writing

Day 1 ~ Author Blog Challenge

Well, it's Saturday morning here in Maryland and I'm sitting here drinking coffee at 1:14 a.m. It isn't that I'm restless. I'm very sleepy. My muse is whispering in my ear, yet once again. I love it when they do that. Only thing is, I don't know which one is speaking to me.  Perhaps it is because I'm tired and my senses are dull, but my muse continues to whisper in my ear. They rotate in shifts, like one would do when working for a company. Constantly they whisper in my ear when sometimes all I want to do is sleep.

You may not have known, but I've recently decided to participate in this author blog challenge. It was a snap decision on my part because usually I don't blog, as you can see from prior posts. This is the reason why I've decided to participate, to strengthen my blogging skills. Imagine that, a writer with nothing to say. Oh, I have plenty to say, however; I usually allow my blogging ideas to escape me. Such a pity.

I love to write. I've written stories all my life, but I never thought I'd seriously embark on my writing journey. During my teenage years I maintained a journal and focused on putting my feelings to paper instead of actually talking to friends and family. Back then I lived in my own little world and it was very hard for me to express how I felt to those around me, for whatever reason. Shame, embarrassment, maybe even coming to terms with the fact that I was horribly depressed back then.

When I was a pre-teen, I remember writing a story about talking dogs. What inspired me to write about talking dogs? Four dogs scared the living bejeezus out of me. Anyway, I must have written a page and a half and recall receiving some very good feedback from my Aunts. Awesome!

Years later I'm a multi published author. Not a New York Times Bestselling author, but that's quite alright. I'm happy because after so many years I've finally gained enough courage to make the decision to journey down this path. There are times when I'm reluctant to share exactly how I feel, but that's okay because this hesitation no longer holds me hostage as it once did. I'm still growing and learning while enjoying this journey. Just recently I've been able to step outside my comfort zone (I'll explain this in a later post.)  and things have never been better.
