Dark Hearts of Charm City ~ Book Two Now Available

Happy Saturday folks! Dark hearts is now available at

Dark Hearts of Charm City is the sequel to The Beast Within. For those of you who are familiar with Book One, The Beast Within, you know of Julian's betrayal. Book Three is the conclusion and takes place in Los Angeles, CA. I've completed the first chapter and hope to have this story submitted by March or April.
The Beast Within

Excerpt:

After claiming Diana, Julian realizes the deadly mistake he’s made. Once Diana rejects him, he’s forced to work with her best friend, Charlene in order to save her life. But is it too late? Does he have a chance to redeem himself and save the love it took him centuries to acquire?

After experiencing betrayal at the hands of Julian, Diana succumbs to the one thing she finds most desirable. Unfortunately, her dark path leads her down a long and dangerous road when she meets up with the rogue elder, Michael Vitello.
Although she rejected Julian, she discovers her love for him grows stronger with each passing moment. She’s still in denial when her hasty decisions thrust her in harm's way, and she discovers, albeit a little too late, how much she truly loves Julian

Blurb:
The almost deadly rays of anger emanating from Diana’s eyes nearly crushed Julian’s soul. Her tongue was equally sharp, and every word that fell from her lips dripped with deadly venom. Never in his existence had he believed words spoken by a woman would cut him so deep. But, as it was, Diana was no ordinary woman. She was his woman. He watched with intensity as she paced the floor, like a caged animal. Her restless beast raged beneath her human façade, eyes aglow, casting him promises of a final death.
“Damn you! Damn you to Hell! If I had the strength to destroy you right now, I would do so, without a thought!”
“You need to save your energy,” Julian commanded, as he watched her wrinkle her face in anger. His beast crouched dangerously close to the surface, eager to tame the female beast inside his mate. True, he had betrayed her. Maybe he deserved every bit of her anger for what he had done to her. No, hatred. . . The emotion hung heavy in the air around them. Even so, he’d had his reasons, black as they may have been.
“Damn you to Hell!” In her fit of anger, she effortlessly hurled the nightstand at Julian, barely missing him.
The blood-curdling, banshee-like cry rang loud in his ears. “What will I do now? I swear I’m going to kill you when my strength returns.” Diana paced the floor, halting momentarily to glower at him. ”You’ve pulled me into the fiery pits of Hell, right along with you!
Self-flagellation set in Julian’s soul like a cold front, and guilt accompanied it. He should have not weakened when he’d claimed her. Everything his sire taught him, he’d ignored.
His beast continued to stir. “You thirst. You must take my blood.” He knelt next to her on the floor and bit into his wrist. She looked up at him, eyes black as the night sky. Slowly they began to glow as she accepted his vein. With greed, she ingested his elixir until he forced her to stop.
     “Enough!”
“No, it can never be enough.”
Julian rose, pacing the floor, mentally scanning the area. The foul presence of the rogues lingered. He clenched his fists and hissed, sending the mental warning on wind currents. He reveled in the feeling of the rogues tensing in their dark place of slumber, but the Ancient threat never backed down. It still lurked, even in the bright rays of the sun. He bared his fangs as the Ancient sent a mental challenge.

Friends Steve Guidotti and Jerry Frigaard know that anything worth having is worth fighting for. In an effort to win back their old flame Siobhan, they use the skills that made them the successful businessmen they are and concoct a plan.  While they both enjoy Siobhan’s spice, one man is madly in love with her.  Of course, he won’t admit it.

Siobhan Anderson knows what she wants in life, in business…and in bed.  In life, she wants happiness.  In business, she wants to be the boss.  In bed, she wants it all.  Having not one, but two alpha males sharing her bed, Siobhan has more than she needs, but she has fun…and the love marks to prove it.

Or she had fun…until she kicked both men out of her bed.  Though she knows it was the right thing to do, she reluctantly admits (to herself) that she misses Jerry and Steve.  No one else ever rocked her body like those two.  Accepting their apologies and the two men back in her life, she soon discovers that not only are they rocking her world, but one of them has obtained a little piece of her heart as well.

Can Siobhan continue to withhold her true feelings, or will she accept them, and choose the man who holds the key to her heart?

**excerpt**
Siobhan Anderson damn near snapped her pen in half when she saw Steve and Jerry exiting the elevator…
Besides being successful businessmen, they were also her lovers—or had been until she’d ended things eight months ago. She wished a few more weeks had passed before they visited again, simply because of the searing sexual desires they invoked within her each time she laid eyes on them…
She couldn’t deny that she’d missed them or that she secretly wished things could stay the way they had been.  The absence of both men in her life had made her realize what her true desires were.  Still, in light of that, she wasn’t going to be anyone’s fool—especially since she didn’t know if Jerry shared her feelings.
The last thing she wanted was to face them now. She felt her face flush, among other things. Surely they knew they’d captured her heart.  Despite their separation, she still carried their mark, physically and mentally, and it was damned annoying.
Folding her arms, she patiently waited for them to swipe their badges and smirked when Steve rang the doorbell while Jerry tapped his foot.  Flashing them a come-hither smile as she batted her thick eyelashes, Siobhan pointed to her own badge, knowing they’d get the message.  Laughter fell from her lips when Steve waved and rang the doorbell again. He was being an ass, as usual. Sort of like the last time they’d visited.
Siobhan ignored their antics and filed some papers, determined she was not going to simply buzz those fuckers in despite how fine they were.  Corporate rules meant wearing visible badges and letting yourself in. Despite being big dogs in the company, they were no exception.   Of course, they just couldn’t resist having some fun with her, just like she couldn’t resist showing them she wasn’t a pushover.
Let the games begin, she thought, grinning to herself, determined to be the winner in this power struggle. Siobhan produced a challenging smile that seemed to frustrate Jerry. Ha-ha! Ruffling the Viking’s feathers was something she did often for pure fun out of bed and for pure pleasure in it, as it made for awesome down and dirty sex.
Returning her smile, Steve rang the bell again, while Jerry reached into his inside jacket pocket and retrieved his badge before swiping it.
Pretending to ignore them, Siobhan checked her voice messages, flaunting how unaffected she was. Lust brewed in both men’s eyes. Good.  She shouldn’t be the only one affected.  While arrogance was their middle name, she yearned to be tangled in a pile of steaming sex, just like old times.
A few days ago, both men had sent chocolates. While she’d enjoyed the gifts, she was beside herself, thinking they were still competing for her affections. If this was the case, Siobhan knew things wouldn’t end well, especially as this was the very thing that had destroyed their relationship in the first place.
“Good morning, Siobhan. Got a conference room for us today?” Steve asked as he leaned his elbows on the ledge while tapping the conference-room book with his fingers. “By the way, you look exceptionally beautiful today.”
“Morning, Steve, and thank you,” she replied as she stared into the Italian’s baby blues. Yeah, he still had the same effect on her. She cleared her throat, ignoring the moisture that formed between her legs.  “Are you guys expecting visitors, or will it be just the two of you?”
“No, just myself and Jerry,” Steve said.
“In that case you guys can take any of the guest offices.”
“Thank you.  You’re definitely working that black,” he added with a smile. “But then, you already knew that or you wouldn’t be sporting it, eh, darling?” He stroked his goatee.
Her nipples pressed against her bra, and she squirmed in her seat. “Thanks,” she said, clearing her throat. The ringing phone saved her from having to say more.
As she hung up, Jerry ended his conversation and joined Steve.  His squared jaw was tight, and those icy cold blues peered right through her before softening.
“I see I’m going to have to put you in your place while I’m here,” Jerry said with a half smile.
She glanced up at Jerry, batted her eyelashes, and flashed her pearly whites.  It was amusing the way he always attempted to boss her around.  She knew he was simply teasing, so she’d play this game…for now.   “You know the corporate policy, Jerry.  According to security, all visitors are supposed to display their badges and let themselves in.”  Before he could respond, she pressed on.  Jerry might be a dom in bed, but they weren’t in bed right now.  “Besides, you couldn’t put me in my place if your life depended on it.”
Jerry smiled.  “Is that an invitation?” he asked in a soft voice.
Siobhan exhaled sharply. “An invitation for what?” She bit her bottom lip as the Viking’s jaw muscle twitched a few times. He always had to be in control. And she always had to test that control.  She loved plucking his nerves as much as the two men enjoyed vexing hers.
Jerry leaned across the ledge. “An invitation for me to bend you over the desk and have my way with you.  You know from experience I can think of plenty of ways to put you in your place, and I know from experience you like it when I do,” he whispered without blinking.
Suddenly, Siobhan found it somewhat difficult to breathe. She clamped her thighs together as an intense vision of being sandwiched between both men flashed through her mind. Tiny currents of pleasure danced on her clit, almost bringing her to the edge of an explosive orgasm.  All she had to do was imagine Steve delivering a few swift licks of his tongue as Jerry tweaked her nipples.
“You know what you need?”  Jerry paused, giving her a chance to answer. When she remained silent, he continued. “You need us.”

* * *
Excerpt:
Darcelle Campbell slipped out of Harley's grasp as she struggled to free herself from the impeding emotions bombarding her. Once again, he'd gotten too close for comfort. Their on again, off again relationship was based strictly upon her terms, ever since she was nineteen years old. Now, in their thirties, she knew he sought more from her, possibly even marriage.

Sighing, she sat up in bed, clutching the comforter close to her naked body. Darcelle observed the sleeping blond man. They'd known one another since she was fourteen. Back then, he'd just moved to Maryland from West Virginia, looking for construction work. Her stepfather, Jackson Wagner had taken the young man under his wing, teaching him all there was to know about the construction business.

Sunlight slipped through the Venetian blinds and kissed the curly golden mass framing his strong masculine features. He was so handsome. All a woman could ever want in a man. Other admirable qualities included; his kindness, generosity, thoughtfulness, and consideration. Why couldn't she be the same?

Darcelle tweaked her black razor cut shoulder length hair and turned to look in the mirror on the door of her closet, beside the bed. She frowned as she studied her reflection. To him, she was a goddess, but in her own eyes she was plain at best. She knew he adored her flawless mocha skin, chocolate brown eyes, and other exotic features. Her oval shaped face and high cheek bones were a gift from her great-grandmother, who was half Black Foot Indian and African American. She continued staring at her reflection while tracing the outline of her full pouty lips, as Harley usually did when he gazed lovingly into her eyes.

He stirred. His green eyes fluttered open, and a smile formed on his face.

"Good morning, beautiful," he said softly, reaching up to caress her chin with a strong hand. "What a beautiful sight to wake up to." He propped himself up with an elbow. "Wish this could happen every day."

"Good morning, Harley," she said with a smile. Already, she knew where this conversation was going. She bent down, allowing her lips to brush his, almost giving into the strong pull of love, and basking in the fluttering of her heart. Instantly, she pulled back. This was a mistake, and an emotion she couldn't allow. She tried to leave the bed, but he yanked her back quickly, forcing her to gaze into liquid green eyes.

"Don't do this to me again, woman." Harley breathed, as he cupped her face between work roughened hands. His eyes pleaded with her. "I don't want to be away from you, Darcelle." His thumb stroked her bottom lip, leaving her breathless. "Christmas will be here soon, let's go shopping, or something. I thought since we both have the day off, we couldó"

She interrupted. "Harley, it's time to get up, and there's so much I have to do."

He frowned, forcing the vein between his eyebrows to dance. "Umó I thought we would share this day, remember? Don't do this to meó to us." He released her from his grasp, exhaling as he ran a hand through his hair and looked at the clock on the nightstand. "You know, it's only eight o clock."

She bit her lip, trying to think of an excuse as he stroked her smooth mocha colored skin. "Well, I've got some paperwork I need to take care of andó"

He pulled her against his hard body and kissed her cheek. "Don't make me leave." His hand brushed against her nipple, forcing a whimper from her. "You know, it would be nice if you'd let me in here," he gently tapped on her forehead, "and let me know why you resist us so much. I'm tired of you shutting me out, Darcelle."

"You know how difficult it is for me to share my thoughts, and feelings," she murmured with regret. "Ió"

"My God, woman! We're both in our thirties, and have been dating on and off for years," he exclaimed, swiping his hair from his face. "I don't get you sometimes. Whenever we get close, something clicks in your head, and you back off." He shrugged his shoulders, and shook his head in frustration. "Do you even love me?" Jaw set tight, he searched her eyes for an answer.

"I care for you, you know that." That was the most she could give him. He'd have to take it or leave it. The hurt look on his face confirmed the fact that his patience was wearing thin. She couldn't blame him.

"You care for me? Sorry, I'm not buying it." He reached for her, but she pushed his hand away.

"Look, I think you should leave, okay?" she said as she left the bed and grabbed her robe from the floor. Quickly, she slipped it on.

"Please, just talk to me. Let me in. What goes on in that head of yours?" She looked away from his mesmerizing gaze.

"I'm just so busy with my business, and Ió"

In a fit of anger, Harley jumped out of bed and began dressing. "Fine, you can have your business, you can spend the dayóalone," he said, slipping his boxers on, and then his jeans. "I'm getting sick of this shit." He paused before slipping his black sweater over his head. "When you're ready for a relationship, you know where to find me!" There was silence as he sat on the edge of the bed to slip his socks and boots on. He stood and stared at her for a few moments, as though waiting for an answer that would never come. "I'll talk to you soon, I guess," he snapped before snatching his keys from the black lacquer nightstand.

"Go after him," a tiny voice in the back of her mind commanded. She continued staring at the spot where he stood, and listened as he stormed down the stairs, and out the door. She jumped when he slammed it, and she continued to stare off into space. Tears welled in her eyes when she heard the diesel engine of his truck start.

"You're going to lose him," the voice came again. This time, she looked around. Was she going crazy, or was it her imagination? Shrugging it off, she sighed and sat down on the bed. She'd lied. There was no paperwork. She'd concocted the lie to get him to leave her alone. Truth of the matter was, Christmas was coming, and this was the most painful time of the year for her.
