Diana Carrington - The Biatch of Dark Hearts

Well, good afternoon everyone. Today I have a very special guest to my blog, Diana Carrington. She is my heroine in The Beast Within and Dark Hearts of Charm City stories. Currently, I'm working on the third book of this trilogy.

As some of you know Diana was once human until she became Julian Grey's lover. Along with this interview I'm going to share blurbs and some small excerpts from both books. Here is a small excerpt and blurb from my first book, The Beast Within.

Blurb:

Diana Carrington is a hard working, independent, and outgoing business woman during the week. During the weekends she becomes the hunter, of men…On the prowl for some strange leads her to vampire, Julian Grey…Suddenly, Diana becomes the hunted.

From the moment he laid eyes on Diana in Club Tek Noir, vampire Julian Grey decided he had to possess her, even if for only one night. The first bite in the back of his SUV was the first step that would ultimately lower his defenses. The following weekend proved to be promising as the second bite escalated explosive passion and ancient carnal desires for both.

Excerpt:

This was absolutely the most delectable, darkest pleasure Diana had ever experienced. He had taken her to so many heights within their short time together, introducing her to pleasures she never experienced, and emotions she never thought she owned. Her instincts warned her of approaching danger, but she ignored them, completely surrendering herself to her vampire lover.

CK:   Hi Diana. How is Julian doing?

DC:   He's good. At least he was okay when I left him last night. Oh, and he wants to be interviewed next. I've taken some chances in the past before meeting up with Julian, but let me tell you--That night when he overpowered me, that was such a rush...

CK:   And, how are you? Do you have any regrets?

DC:   At this particular moment in my existence, I'm good. I've moved on and have forgiven Julian for his moment of weakness. No regrets at all. I've come to terms with my new life.

CK:   If you had it to do all over again, would you have gone off with Julian?

DC:   I wouldn't change a thing. My promiscuous behavior led me to love, although I didn't know it at the time. Seriously, I thought it would be a one night stand, and that it would end there.

CK:   That's really good to hear. So--are you okay with our decision?

DC:   Better now, since you've allowed me some space. I'm not so sure what you're intentions were, but you just can't go bossing someone around. I swear, if you weren't my creator, I'd rip your f**cking throat out!

CK:   Okay, see. That's exactly why you and I have been butting heads for the past couple of weeks, making this story most difficult to complete. Seriously, your attitude could really use some major adjusting. Oh, and you better think twice before threatening me again. I'm the one who has control over whether or not you get that happy ending you seek. So don't f**ck with me!

DC:   Exactly what are your intentions?

CK:   I assure you, my intentions are to unite you with Julian once you've triumphed over the Ancients. There is so much soul searching to do on your part. This isn't going to be an easy task.  What will you do to save those you love after learning the Ancients' secrets?

DC:   I'll do whatever I need to.  I can't allow them to take over the world.

CK:   Even if it means sacrificing yourself? Cause you know the Ancients are gathering in LA to manifest their plan into reality.

DC:   Yeah, I know. I'm not even sure I'll survive this series, but lucky for us our new friends have provided me with some ammo that will cast them into hell, where they belong.

CK:   There is a decision you must make in this story, involving one of your friends.

DC:   This isn't going to be easy, is it? This isn't fair.

CK:   No one said life was fair, now did they?

DC:   You're sadistic.

CK:   No, I'm realistic. In life we go nowhere unless we're tested physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We were meant to evolve while triumphing over simple, and sometimes challenging hurdles. I really think at times we were all put on this earth to suffer tragically. Life can be going so well, then suddenly BOOM! You're down and out, face in the mud, ass in the air and you haven't a clue as to what you're going to do next.

DC:   Yes, I feel like that all the time. That's how I felt in Dark Hearts of Charm City. I hated my life--my existence  and what I became. In my quest to discover myself I hurt the ones I love the most. I've made so many mistakes. There was so much anger within me. The thought of dealing with anything was overwhelming. I avoided that by teaming up with Michael Vitello. Such a mistake!

Blurb:

After claiming Diana, Julian realizes the deadly mistake he’s made. Once Diana rejects him, he’s forced to work with her best friend, Charlene in order to save her life. But is it too late? Does he have a chance to redeem himself and save the love it took him centuries to acquire?

After experiencing betrayal at the hands of Julian, Diana succumbs to the one thing she finds most desirable. Unfortunately, her dark path leads her down a long and dangerous road when she meets up with the rogue elder, Michael Vitello.

Although she rejected Julian, she discovers her love for him grows stronger with each passing moment. She’s still in denial when her hasty decisions thrust her in harm's way, and she discovers, albeit a little too late, how much she truly loves Julian.

Excerpt:

His beast continued to stir. “You thirst. You must take my blood.” He knelt next to her on the floor and bit into his wrist. She looked up at him, eyes black as the night sky. Slowly they began to glow as she accepted his vein. With greed, she ingested his elixir until he forced her to stop.

“Enough!”

“No, it can never be enough.” She was in the throes of her bloodlust. Her demon within fought to overpower her. It would if she gave in. He tried telling her of various ways to gain control over the beast, but she‟d have no part of him. She rose, looking him in the eye while lifting her chin in defiance. “Hunting calls to me, and there isn‟t a damn thing you can do about it, understand?” She snarled as he stood, matching her gaze, never looking away. She was challenging him, and as her sire, he would have to put up one hell of a fight in an effort not to draw attention to themselves. “Don‟t say things you don‟t mean, little one.” He'd try reasoning with her. Even so, he doubted this would work. Right now, what she wanted was to dish out serious punishment, and he knew the only thing preventing
her from leaving his home was the deadly rays of the sun. “You owe me,” she snarled. “I intend to collect the debt! Maybe take your head—Perhaps I‟ll hang it on the wall, as a dark reminder of how
you murdered me!”

CK:   Wow, so much anger. I know you did, and that's why we need to end this trilogy. You have a purpose in this new existence of yours.

DC:   I never want to be that way again. That's why I've set my sights on destroying the Ancients. Are my friends and family going to die?

CK:   I can't say for sure, it depends on where my muse takes me.

DC:  Well--who is it?  Who are you going to kill off?

CK:   Can't say for sure. Right now, I wouldn't worry with that. You've got your hands full with the Ancients. They're strength are in their numbers.

DC:   They can never die physically, can they?

CK:   No, they can't.  Unless--

DC:   Unless what?

CK:   Unless you unravel the mystery of that incantation, forever banishing their souls to another realm besides Hell. They've spent so many centuries on the human plane. It is necessary for a guardian to see that they remain banished. That guardian must be immortal.

DC:   I knew you wouldn't make this easy.

CK:  It will be cake. I promise to send you a few hints along the way....Is there anything else you'd like to tell the readers?

DC:   No, I'm good. Dammit! It's almost dawn. I'll never make it back to LA now. Mind if I crash?

CK:   Sure, go ahead. I'll be seeing you, chica.

DC:   Will you let Julian know I'll be home once the sun sets?

CK:   Of course.
Ahem. So, there you have it folks. Diana is preparing to battle the Ancients. I hope you enjoyed this interview. Stay tuned. Julian and Charlene will be interviewed in the next week or so.

Oh Wow! That interview rocked! Who the heck are you killing off? OMG! I wish I knew how to do a character interview. This blog was very interesting. Thank you for posting it.

You should do these more often. I absolutely LOVED it!

Rock on with your bad self.

Hey Se, thanks for stopping by. Hmm, I'm sorry, but I can't tell you who's going under the blade. ; ) Character interviews are pretty simple. Diana and I had a fallen out while writing several times. So, we just had to make a few minor adjustments. No big deal, really.

I'm looking forward to bringing in Julian, Charlene, and Damian too. ; ) Thank you for stopping by chica!
